Time and the Hour was one of the small literary magazines that sprang up at the end of the 19th century. This image appeared in the magazine's June 6, 1896 issue, accompanying a poem by Louise Chandler Moulton (whose stories Reed had previously illustrated). Bradley, writing about Reed in Bradley: His Book in July 1896.
