British Painting in the Sixties

12

Tom Wolsey, known as the art director of popular men’s magazine Town in early 1960, designed the poster and flyer of British Painting in the Sixties for The Contemporary Art Society exhibition of 1962–63. The exhibition was located at the Tate Gallery and the Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, England.

The design utilizes two fonts and a two toned color palette, with a textured “60” enlarged to crop outside the poster's area.
