Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Logo

The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) emblem is designed as an abstract representation of an ancient Chinese round coin with a square hole, symbolizing banking and finance.  

At the center of the emblem, the character “工” (Gong) is seamlessly integrated with the outer circular shape, representing the flow of goods and commerce. 

The logo highlights ICBC’s identity as China’s specialized bank for industrial and commercial credit services. The central "工" character is deliberately split, enhancing its visibility and distinctiveness.  

Additionally, the two opposing geometric shapes on either side embody a dialectical balance—using separation to emphasize continuity, and division to create unity. This concept illustrates the equal, trusting, and mutually dependent relationship between the bank and its clients.  

Through ingenious design techniques, the emblem reinforces its symbolic expression, skillfully merging Chinese characters with the traditional coin shape, creating a logo that is both deeply rooted in Chinese heritage and exudes a modern, dynamic feel.
