Recycle Symbol

6

The recycling symbol is one that everyone knows about but has only been made semi recently. It was made by Gary Anderson in 1970 for a contest about environmentalism hosted by the Container Corporation of America. Anderson was the winner of the contest and got a scholarship of $2500 while the logo was put as public domain. Its use as the universal symbol of recycling has lived on ever since. It should be apart of graphic design for it impact to lives and the importance in society now.  The main association to thinking about the environment is this symbol. it is on a lot of packaging and is selling points for buying separate products, and it raised awareness for helping the environment.
