Graphic artists in Germany incorporated avant-garde art styles into poster design. In an effort to inspire national pride throughout the working class, a blacksmith depicted in a style reminiscent of Die Blaue Reiter—evokes implicit memories of Germanic and Norse mythology through the portrayal of the forge.
