Why husbands leave home

562

This advertisement showcases women in the domestic sphere. It is basically implying that if women do not have proper and delicious meals waiting for their husbands when they get home, their husbands will leave them. The blurb at the bottom is explaining that men get angry at their women if they make bad food or if they are not in the kitchen. The ad says that men are deprived of love if they do not receive food from their wife. This supports the stereotypes that women exist to serve men. There are large letters at the bottom stating, “HURRY-UP MEALS YOU DON’T HAVE TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR,” basically meaning that women must make an excuse for not providing a good meal for their husbands. This speaks down to women making them exist as objects for men and that it is their responsibility to keep their husbands happy, otherwise they will be abandoned. The large picture they decide to use in the ad shows a man with a disappointed face emphasizing the idea that women must make men happy.
