Sábado : semanario al servicio de la cultura y de democracia en América [Sábado: weekly newspaper at the service of culture and democracy in America]

It was characterized by critical publication on cultural, political, economic and literature-related issues such as poetry, stories and essays. In addition, one of the main aspects of Sábado was the fact that his publications were not limited to the Colombian national sphere. Although the topics regarding Colombia had importance and primacy, the newspaper was also dedicated to the publication of foreign authors as well as conjunctural and international topics for the time. Therefore, it had poems by the Spanish Federico García Lorca, by the Mexican Amado Nervo, by the Chilean Pablo Neruda and stories by authors such as Edgar Allan Poe.
