Early 19th Century Playing Cards
These cards were used for a type of card game called Kauflabet or Kauf-Labet for three to five players that was popular within women's circles.
Complete pack printed from different plates and having the titles in German and French. Cards were printed on pasteboard and made with an intaglio printmaking technique called etching.
