Windows 95 Accessibility
Windows 95 was the first operating system to come out with an accessibility feature for those cognitively and physically impared. It opened the door for people of all abilities to take part in design as the only tool they needed, once customizing the software to their needs, was to be able to press one singular button on the keyboard at a time. This allows people who can't even hold a pencil to participate in design.
These accessibility features are a wonderful example of how ui design can be adjusted for those of different abilities. For example, the high contrast display lets those with poor eyesight easily read text.
It's especially important to not how computer are increasingly becoming the industry norm for design in the wake of Adobe illustrator and Photoshop's release.
