conjugate: Cyanotype Zine

17

Conjugate is an artist zine collaboration between Véra Ada and Daniel Headland. It was printed using three cyanotype processes on six double-sided pages.

The cyanotype process is an old photographic technique that produces blueprints. It uses ferric ammonium citrate and potassium ferricyanide applied to paper, which, when exposed to sunlight, turns blue in areas exposed to light. After exposure, the paper is rinsed in water, creating a bright cyan image. Cyanotypes are an example of simple, affordable, and relevant mode of printmaking.
