Bad Brains Show Poster

This is a poster advertising a Bad Brains and Corrosion of Conformity show at the 4808 Club in Charlotte from 2008. Since the Bad Brains formed in the 1970s, they have been a very influential band and were pioneers of the genre of hardcore punk. The imagery here is very evident of the xerox scanning effect which would happen when reproducing large numbers of the poster. Being made in 1989, that is exactly how they would have distributed posters for rock shows. It also has a combination of typed and written typefaces in a collage-like feel which reflects the handmade nature of these diy punk posters. These genuine aspects show this poster is truly “punk”.
