HOPE Barack Obama campaign poster

1684
This iconic poster was originally created without permission from Obama's campaign and set off a legal battle about the copyright of the source photograph. Fairey self-funded the poster, distributing half a million copies. The image was then presented by hundreds of others on flyers, stickers, buttons, and digital media. A multitude of parodies and memes followed. It won Brit Insurance Design of the Year award at the Design Museum in London in 2009.
