Replica of the Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver 925 Fish Bone Skeleton Necklace Pendant

1

This necklace and pendant is a replica of the Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver 925 Fish Bone Skeleton Necklace Pendant.  We know this is a replica because real sterling silver would have 925 written on it or the words “STER” and/or “STERLING,” this has neither.

Originally, these types of necklaces are hand produced in Taxco, the mountain town in Mexico known for its silver work and crafts. It’s considered the leading center for silver work in the western hemisphere and the towns reputation for silver work is due to the high abundance of silver in the area, where mining began in prehistoric Latin American times.

In indigenous culture, the fish bone is seen as a symbol of transformation and new beginnings. Fish bones are also seen as a cycle of life, and the importance of balance and harmony within nature. Today, fish bones continue to hold spiritual significance for many people and cultures around the world, often used in various forms of spiritual practice, such as meditation, prayer, and ritual.
