This is one of the earliest food posters and examples of food advertising. Depicting a girl drinking milk, posters such as these have gone on to shape the advertising industry as we know it today, popularizing the writing system of food advertising, where an image is shown with the food in use, a slogan catches the readers eye (typically in a unique font) and the brand is noted somewhere on the page. This poster also illustrates motifs of cute advertising, using cats to emphasize the milk’s deliciousness, which inspired popular brands such as Nestle.
