Barbie Logo

Ruth Handler set out to create a doll brand different from many of the time. While baby dolls dominated the market-- Handler wanted to create a doll with freedom and independence. The logo of this doll brand's bright pink reflects the unabashed femininity of Barbie. In a time where women's independence was a relatively new concept-- the Barbie logo, the handwritten feel and elegant script is an assertion of girl's place in the market.
