Socialist Republic of Vietnam banknote of 10 Dong
In September of 1985, a significant monetary transition took place when the Vietnamese government authorized the State Bank to introduce new banknotes with the intention to replace the existing currency that had been in circulation since 1978. The exchange rate established for this currency conversion allowed individuals to trade 10 of the old 1978 banknotes for a single new banknote issued by the State Bank. This move aimed to streamline the country's monetary system and pave the way for economic reforms. This particular banknote has a national emblem as well as typographic elements influenced by the Shanghai Art Deco Movement.
