Yūhi Hōkoku No Toki (National Spiritual Mobilization Movement) , Eagle and the Rising Sun
This is a pamphlet in the style called Kokutai. It was used during World War II in Japan to help the war effort. The art concept is leading more towards a sense of “traditional” Japan style, which helped to promote their spirit of nationalism. The use of animals and the japansese flag in the background with a few words to encourage the Japanese way of life. The war was bring out a sense of greater advancement, this in turn scared many of loosing their traditional life style so these pamphlets reminded people of where they came from.
