Kenner drawing spirograph SPIROTOT set
The fact that this is a set for kids to make cool designs out of shapes, it already includes its very own graphical design aspects. This was made in 1972 which means it's inspired by the 70s retro era. The colors that were used to create this box cover gave off a vintage outlook. As we proceed to look it over, we can immediately see the type of the title is very groovy, giving off either the Pump Triline font or Mexcellent which is a tri-linear stripe font. Both lead with the intention of minimizing space for more vertical metrics.
This is an important piece of graphic design history because this goes way past the 2000’s and recollects the aesthetic of the late 19’s era that evaluates texture of the cardboard. On top of that, Kenner toys began to be produced around 1946, which brought us to a major design shift. And as this spirograph set became one of the productions, it opened a new creation for kids to make shapes, lines and patterns.
