LoCoS Keyboard

10

This is a keyboard (human interface device, HID) designed by Yuiko Ota with the intention of allowing users to type using his LoCoS (Lovers' Commintication System).

Based upon a English QUERTY keyboard (which is included), this LoCoS provides buttons for the most commonly used LoCoS symbols, along with dedicated keys to combine these symbols into new ones.

This image was taken from a chapter of the book “Mobile TV: Customizing Content and Experience. Human-Computer Interaction Series.” This chapter written by Aaron Marcus is titled “m-LoCoS UI: A Universal Visible Language for Global Mobile Communication.” Here, Marcus explores potential input systems for LoCoS on mobile devices.
