Christmas Card

6

The card is rectangular Christmas card made sometime in the 1960s. It's slightly bent and there's a small tear by the birds and the word “merry.” The card depicts small, cartoon styled animals, which are very reminiscent of that era's animation, looking at a sign that says “Merry Christmas” in a sans serif typeface. Below, it says “to the four of you.” It can be assumed that the four the card refers to is the family that it was sent to. The last detail of note is that Santa Claus can be seen walking off page with a bucket of paint, implying he wrote the sign.

The card is printed in half tones, with the original illustration probably either being ink or an opaque paint like acrylic or oil. Based the slight sheen of the card, I assume that the designer might have gone over the card adding a few more details in ink or paint.
