Collection of Decca Records

6

This collection of 6 records from the late 60s to 1980 exhibits the evolution of a monochromatic design formula from Decca Records. The black background with white text and a band across the top with inverted colors stayed a consistent formula for these records for over 20 years.

These 6 examples can be categorized as “Wide Band” and “Narrow Band,” referring to the white/silver band across the top. Wide Band can be further categorized into ED1, ED2, and ED3, with each ED focusing on the placement of information on the record face and the presence of a groove under the print.
