Ruth Burch Christmas card

6

A Christmas/Holiday greeting card created by Ruth Burch around the 1960s. The card is rectangular on manilla paper. It depicts an illustration of two deer in a snowy forest. It seems the original illustration was watercolor and then printed in halftones. After being printed, the designer went back in with a silver gel pen. What's very unique about this is it acts both as a highlight and a shadow, depending on how the card is held in relationship to the light.

The inside says in print "Best wishes for a Merry Christmas." The type mimics handwritten cursive with a small star replacing the dots of the i's.
