Sabrina is a 1995 movie that acts as a remake of the 1954 film of the same name, which was in turn based on the 1953 play, Sabrina Fair.
The VHS package's front features the film's poster with some slight modifications, mainly the removal of the tagline and some supplemental information. Said poster features Harrison Ford leaning on the film's title, as well as a bust of a woman in a large black hat. These visuals extend to the sides of the box, where other elements are overlaid on top. These elements are a shot from the movie at the top, the film's title in the middle, and the Paramount logo at the bottom. The back of the box is divided into two quadrilaterals, one white and one red. The white side contains a plot summary and a single shot from the film at the top. The red side contains more shots from the film stacked on top of one another like photographs. The bottom contains supplemental information that goes across both halves of the composition. Finally, the top has the film's title and extra information on the left with the Paramount logo on the right.
This box's visuals strike a balance between explaining the film's premise through its visuals while also utilizing recognizable individuals and brands to sell the film to home audiences. The style of the logo and color scheme evoke the film's nature as a romance movie, while Harrison Ford's starring role on the front helps to draw in people familiar with him as an actor. This package acts as an example of a generalist approach to VHS packaging design, taking steps down every path publishers used to attract buyers.
