Alabama 2004 Wildlife Federation License Plate

6

This license plate, put into circulation in 2004 and retired in 2013, has a beautiful scenic river in the background, lined by trees. In the foreground are species of animal native to Alabama including a white buck-tail deer, loon, largemouth bass, and turkey, among other animals. The Alabama Wildlife Federation's logo sits at the bottom of the plate. Heart of Dixie is still on this plate, but is notably less pronounced, making way for the illustration of the wildlife Alabama has to offer. In this way this plate hints at a cultural development: prioritization of the current Alabama and its wildlife over it's confederate past. Although the slogan is still on this plate, a reminder that there is still work to be done, the move from it being at the forefront to part of the background shows the changing public opinion and priority.
