Grand Canyon and Kaibab Forest, Arizona Souvenir Folder

6

Foldouts, or souvenir folders, look like postcards, but they open up and unfold a long series of pictures, front and back. This one is from the Grand Canyon and Kaibab Forest in Arizona, U.S.A. The front is a picture with the caption: “The Colorado River from Cape Royal.” There are lines on the right side and an empty square for addressing and stamping the postcard. It says, “Grand Canyon and Kaibab Forest Arizona;” “Grand Canyon” and “Kaibab Forest” are written in a yellow script font, with a red shadow effect, “and” is in a white sans-serif, and “Arizona” is in a red sans-serif font, stylized to look 3-dimensional. The back is a picture with the caption: “View from Grand Canyon Lodge.” When you open the folder, there is a description of the Grand Canyon National Park and Kaibab National Forest, and the accordion-folded pictures of scenery in the Grand Canyon and Kaibab Forest with captions. The copyright on the card is “1938 by Curt Teich & Co.” It is made of thick, sturdy paper, but it has some signs of use along the edges and folds. This would have cultural value to someone who were to travel to the Grand Canyon and Kaibab Forest, see these sights, and buy this postcard to remember their trip by, or to send to a loved one.
