This booklet was a reference guide to attendees of the 1960s Broadway play, “Jimmy Shine”. It is made solely from paper, staples, and ink. This booklet guided the audience through the performance and gave collectors a glimpse into that night of the theater. The cover pictures a black and white image of the main character played by Dustin Hoffman. Striped across the top is the iconic yellow rectangle with the word playbill within it. This booklet contains the cast, musicians, and acts for the play.
This booklet consists of 53 pages. Throughout the booklet are all kinds of advertisements. Many 60s advertisements are filled in the pages for things like alcohol, automobiles, and perfume. Found within the advertisements is information pertaining to the play like the actors real names and and the musicians. Though the bottom of the booklet is partially torn it still encapsulates the culture and trends of the 60s. It contains type styles, art, and even advertisements that almost act as a time capsule and look into the design styles of the 60s.
