All of You - Ahmad Jamal

This vinyl entitled All of You was released by Ahmad Jamal in 1961 originally on the Argo label. Jamal was a famous American jazz pianist whose album featured live performances at his club in Chicago. What made this jazz record so unique was its distinctive sound, while playing at soft levels, that left space for its fierce passion. Some of his most famous songs on this track are “Time on My Hands", "Star Eyes", and "All of You". The cover is a coated thin cardboard with a light earthy blue-green background with palm leaves coming in asymmetrically into the top right corner. The type is a geometric sans serif (artist) paired with a slab serif (album name). The cover is photographed by Don Bronstein, who was one of the first staff photographers at Playboy magazine, as Jamal sits in a MAA chair that is designed by George Nelson.
