This is an advertisement for the fashion building, Laforet. Designed by Rikako Nagashima in 2011, who is one of Japan's most famous graphic designers. She was born in 1980 in Ibaraki Prefecture and graduated from the famous Musashino Art University in 2003. Her design company, “village” was launched in 2014 and other than graphic design, she also has talents such as product design, editorial design, and art direction.
This is a piece titled “be noisy”. In the first frame, a woman has flowers flowing out of her mouth. The flowers have migrated up her face, covering her eyes. The second frame shows the progression of time, more flowers and even small apples have erupted from her mouth, now covering her entire head. The title and Laforet are printed in the right-hand corner in a typewriter font.
Her work evokes Laforet's long tradition of encouraging people to be themselves. To be louder, to be noisier.
