The label for Janet Jackson’s “Nasty” is simple in design, but its bright red background certainly catches the eye. The song title and artist appear in black sans serif type on the several areas of the label. A&M Records’ logo is offset on the right side of the label, displaying the company name above an illustration of a trumpet.
A&M Records was a successful American record label during the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. The label was bought out by PolyGram in the late 1980’s and ownership was then passed around until 2014 when it was integrated into Interscope. Now the catalog of music is divided between several current music labels, such as Universal Music Enterprises and Verve Records.
