Shinjuku Playmap is a free monthly magazine designed to help visitors find entertainment such as nightclubs, record stores, clothing shops, etc… These magazines often have inspiration from the neighborhood. Heikichi Harata is a Japanese graphic designer known for poetic visuals. This poster features a large glowing pink statue towering above several different individuals. There is a yellow soldier like figure in the front looking towards the right, a man climbing over a wall, and two individuals standing proud under the statue. The statue and man in the front are the only parts of the page that is not light blue. This indicates that they have high importance in the visual hierarchy of this work.
