This logo was designed by designer/creative director Kashiwa Sato, who also created the logo for the company's UNIQLO clothing brand. The letters are placed in a square, and blue is used as a contrasting color to UNIQLO's main color, red. The GU logo uses bright yellow for the text color to express the image of a fashionable and slightly mischievous younger sister with UNIQLO as the honor student older brother.
