Landslide in Front of the Hodogaya Tunnel on the Tokaido 1924 by Oda Kancho 織田観潮
This is a color woodblock print by Oda Kancho that illustrates a scene from the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. It is one of the most terrifying disasters in Japan’s history, and a year later the Shonen Gahoshha publishing company commissioned a series of works based on eyewitness accounts.
