White bear's hot cake (shirokuma-chan no hotto-keeki)

Wakayama Ken was born in 1930 in Gifu prefecture. He was originally a graphic designer but he started to make picture books for children. His picture book “Kitsuneyama no yomeiri” (The Wedding at fox mountain) won the 16th Sankei jidou shuppan bunkashou award.   His Koguma-chan ehon series (Little bear picture book series) is very popular among young children.
