Uncle Torys and Yanagihara Ryohei

Yanagi Ryouhei is one of the most famous graphic designer in Japan. He was hired by Kotobuki-ya (it is called Suntory  now) in 1954. He worked as a designer for commercial campaigns. In Showa 33rd year (1958), Yanagihara created a character called “Uncle Torys” for Torys Whiskey. (source: Souei Toshi Yokohama https://yokohama-sozokaiwai.jp/eventreport/17273.html)
