Super Princess Peach DS cartridge

6

Super Princess Peach is a video game published by Nintendo for the DS. The dark gray cartridge features a sticker graphic whose aesthetic matches that of the gameplay. The text “Super Princess Peach” uses a gradient of pink and yellow that matches the titular character. Pink flowers replace the counters of the two capital “P”s. The game's main character is pictured with a surprised expression, looking at something the audience cannot see. She is positioned against a plain blue background and surrounded by bubbles. This stylized graphic shows that the Mario franchise had become so familiar that Nintendo did not need to show this character in a still from the game for their community to understand what it was. Young girls specifically would understand and be excited as this was a game marketed to them.
