This illustration was produced by Tosa Mitsuyoshi in the late 16th - early 17th century. This piece was created in the Momoyama period (1573–1615). The piece depicts the story of Yugiri. It shows Yugiri visiting Tamakazura after the death of their grandmother, bringing a message of condolence, a love poem, and a bouquet of mistflowers. It was painted on an album leaf mounted as a hanging scroll with ink, color, and gold on paper.
