Released on the 9th of June 1977, this first edition of Hot Press magazine features Rory Gallagher at the Macroom festival, as well as other pop-culture and political figures relevant at the time. Edited by Niall Stokes from the inception of Hot Press to this day (2024), the magazine has become a prominent fixture in Irish sub-culture, music, and political news. This cover was the first of many, with Hot Press showcasing its most iconic and radical covers in art exhibitions from the last 40 years.
