This piece was created by Ryohei Kojima, a young and up and coming graphic designer at the time know for his color advertisements that often involved nature and animals. This piece came out i the early 1980s and uses a mixture of high exposure photographs in neon and black colors as well as illustrations in order to explore and document the history of Yokohama city. The center piece of the advert is of course the historical building on fire, likely the port opening memorial hall building which was constructed to commemorate the 50 year anniversary of the opening of the port in Yokohama. The building is seen on fire and being sliced in half with a lightning bolt, queuing the viewer into the tension surrounding the building without being too graphic. The usage of the infographic above it which seems to display a timeline of sorts for the economy of the city uses the color blue as well another nod to the fact that Yokohama is a port city. Overall while this advert seems to have a lot going on, it remains clean and pleasing to the eye.
