Death Note Manga Cover for Volume 4, with artwork by  Takeshi Obata. Cross motifs, both part of character's jewelry, and the background of the image. Traditional stain glass motifs found within the church, are utilized within the design of the cross. A circle is placed behind shinigami, Rem's, head. This bares a resemblance to the Byzantine halo found in medieval christian artwork. The circle also somewhat resembles devil horns on either side of the head.
