At the start… At long last (1999)
Sheila Levrant de Bretteville is an American female designer. This installation that she did was inspired by the history multinational community in and around Inwood. All of the tiles in her piece represent people “White-glazed ceramic tiles comment on the experience of recent immigrants to New York and on the elevator wall are figures from various present-day Latino civilizations.”.
