SELF-DIFFENCE (ピサの斜塔)

20

In response to the increasing tilt of the Leaning Tower of Pisa due to subsidence, Italy sought proposals from various countries to protect this cultural heritage site. In this context, Fukuda proposed ideas to safeguard the tower using visual tricks and humor through graphic design. His concepts included preparing a tower with an opposite inclination next to the leaning one to balance them, swapping the upper half of the tower in the opposite direction to maintain parallelism, placing supporting towers adjacent to the leaning one, and segmenting the tower into six parts and stacking them to prevent collapse. Fukuda realized these ideas on posters, titling his work " SELF-DEFENSE"
