Candy Candy is a famous manga series of the 1970s, later adapted into an animated series. This cover was produced for the manga's first volume release on the 2nd of October, 1975. The cover artist is mangaka and illustrator Yumiko Igarashi, who is best known for her work on Candy Candy (1975), and Josephine the French Rose (2011). Candy Candy is a shōjo manga which follows the story of a bright young girl who was abandoned at an orphanage as an infant. As she grows up, she learns about the world around her through meeting new people and going on many adventures with the people she cares about.
