Ross Hunter's Musical Production of Lost Horizon
This record is an original soundtrack to the movie 'Lost Horizon' filmed in 1937, based on the novel by James Hilton titled 'Lost Horizon.' This story is about a British Diplomat by the name of Robert Conway helping evacuate white people from a war-torn part of China; the last plane, which Conway was a passenger, gets hijacked and crashes into the Himalayas. The crew was rescued and taken to a mysterious Valley of the Blue Moon, where they come across a Tibetan utopia called Shangri-La where there's no war or crime, and people can live to be hundreds of years old. On this record's cover art, we see a visual depiction of Shangri-La. This record is for the 1973 movie remake. You can watch the 1937 version on PBS here:
