The Handmaiden 아가씨
This film poster is for the original Korean release of the film The Handmaiden (아가씨). The Korean poster seems to be inspired by the art movement Minhwa. Minhwa is an art style used to depict the daily lives of people, which this poster reflects. In the center of the poster, blending into the traditional style trees is the name of the film in Korean 아가씨 as well as text underneath describing the year the film came out and the director Park Chan-wook all in Korean. The background of this poster is a brownish-yellow almost corkboard like texture with seven trees creating a pathway the eye follows. One of the trees is blooming with light pink flowers while the rest of them are green. A young woman in a pink hanbok is hanging onto a branch on the pink tree. In the top right corner there is a peddler carrying a heavy item on their back. To the left of the woman is a man in an all white suit smoking a cigarette. Underneath the text, which is centered in the middle is a group of three people. A middle aged gentleman dressed in black, holding up an item. A woman dressed in a red hanbok with her hands on the shoulders of a young girl who is dressed in a pink hanbok. The last group of people are to the right of the three people.
