Söre Popitz Advertisement for Thügina

850

This design by Popitz is a clear indication of her formative yet brief time spent at the Bauhaus, and a great example of her collection of simple, linear advertisements made for a household appliance company named Thügina. This series depicts figured standing beside these appliances, often a group of girls or husband and wife, with this instance being a trio of women, one of them presumably a housewife in an apron. The household appliances and women are sketched with refined, slender black lines, with this simplicity being combined with straightforward typography conveying a sense of cleanliness and effectiveness.
