These items are digital copies of advertisements for the silent film “Black Gold”. The film was released by Norman Studios in 1928, and the advertisements were produced with the intention to convince Black theater operators to screen “Black Gold” in their cities. Norman Studios was a Jacksonville, Florida based silent film studio, today it is Jacksonville's only surviving silent film studio complex. Though the studio was based in Jacksonville's Arlington neighborhood, ‘Black Gold’ was filmed in Tatums, Oklahoma.
