This poster is a warning for Black people to stay out of communist gatherings since the KKK is watching them. Formally, this poster features a bold type and hierarchy concerning the warnings being given. In the paragraph, the words “Social Equality” are in all caps in a sentence stating Alabama is no place for “bad negroes who believe in social equality.” Being animalistically charged, this emphasizes the degree of racial charges and inequality that were rampant at that time.
The typographical choices are indicative of designers using fear as a weapon to polarize the majority against the minority. It demonizes the latter as less than human, implying they don't deserve social equality and deserve to be persecuted by groups like the Ku Klux Klan unless they “behave”. Bold type choices bearing warnings for colored people who value their lives. Since real information on colored people that were separated from racial charges were not popular or taken seriously, people believed anyone of color deserved this fate if they misbehaved and acted like they deserved rights.
