Madam CJ Walker Preparations Advertisement

This advertisement from 1920 highlights the products of Madam CJ Walker. She was an African American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and social activist. She is widely recognized as one of the first female self-made millionaires in the United States. 

I became aware of Madam Walker in a graduate design seminar when preparing to show examples of African American Entrepreneurs to BIPOC youth in a participatory design workshop we co -facilitated. I think it's important because it shows the power of Graphic Design in relation to liberation, equity and thriving for all people.
