This avant-garde poster is advertising Manoli cigarettes. The company is a factory based in Berlin. This poster was one of Bernhard's first designs, however, he made many ad posters for Manoli. This modern form of design, and Bernhard's most common aesthetic, is very minimal. The poster consists of only the image portraying what is being sold and the name of the company. The dark background contrasts the pack of cigarettes, which are illustrated with bright and minimal colors. The single cigarette hanging off the side of the box is enticing to consumers. Bernhard utilized his creative abilities to appeal to the general public and consumers, further connecting art and advertising.
