Job - Cigarette Poster

850

Alphonse Mucha took inspiration from the Japanese style of traditional art such as flatness, bright colors, and an emphasis on elongated figures while combining it with Greek influences.

The poster uses ornamentation to highlight and capture elegance and beauty. Instead of a lone smoker, she seems as though she is relieved or enjoying her cigarette. There is a use of shading and depth to the face, and an exaggeration of the locks of her hair which seem to turn upward along with the flatness and color that shows the influence of Japanese work.
